OCEAN CITY – The Caper Tiger girls and boys track teams each finished third overall at the 2026 Cape May County Track and Field Championships May 5 at Ocean City High School.
The host school won the boys and girls meets with 186 and 141 points, respectively. The Lower Cape May Regional High School boys were third with 53 points and the girls were third with 69 points.
Middle Township boys were second with 68 points, and the girls were second with 98. Wildwood Catholic was fourth among the girls with 25 points and Wildwood fifth with 2 points. For the boys, Wildwood was second with 22 points and Wildwood Catholic fifth with 4 points.
Caper Tiger senior Ella Biersbach had a strong day, winning the long jump and placing a close second in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash events. Teammate Jasmine Black, also a senior, won the 100-meter hurdles, finished second in the 400-meter hurdles and fourth in the long jump. The girls 4×400 finished second.
The LCMR girls took second, third and fourth in the pole vault, led by junior Katarina Ojasoo. Ella Osmundsen, a senior, was third, and freshman Willow Lanzone was fourth.
For the boys, junior Christopher Duley won the 400 hurdles and was fifth in the javelin.
Sophomore Alexis Cruz racked up some big points for the Caper Tigers, finishing second in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and third in the long jump. Teammate Jadon Henry was second in the long jump and third in the 100 meters. LCMR’s Adam Marshall was second in the 400 meters and Chris Saini, a sophomore, was fourth in the 1600 meters and fifth in the 3200 meters.
Senior Will Garoh was second in the shot put and fellow senior Andrew Brant was fourth in the discus.
