CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE — A Lower Township man was charged with theft and forgery following a lengthy investigation conducted by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit.
Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Daniel Holt announced that while employed by the county as director of the CBRNE Task Force, Anthony Robinson, 67, created and utilized a limited liability company to provide HAZMAT-related trainings to various fire departments and/or companies.
The departments would be billed by the LLC, even though the trainings were funded by the Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness Grant on the same dates.
Robinson was arrested Sept. 3, processed and released on a summons pending further court proceedings.
“This investigation demonstrates our commitment to protecting public funds and ensuring that grant-funded programs are administered appropriately and with complete accountability,” Holt said.
