REGINA STRAUSS, 83

Regina Strauss, of Voorhees, N.J., formerly of New York City and South Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Aug. 4, 2026.

Born in Manhattan on June 8, 1943, Regina earned a degree in English from Syracuse University before building a life centered on family, friends and community.

Regina is survived by her former husband, Richard Strauss; her children, Ronald Strauss, Gregg Strauss and Lisa Niemela (Alan); and her seven beloved grandchildren: Rachel, Derek (Alexa), Jack, Sydney, Abby, Jordan and Kayla.

Cape May held a special place in Regina’s heart. After Richard became Superintendent of Schools in Cape May in 1985, she spent decades enjoying summers in Cape May, where she was an active member of the Cape May Tennis Club. She loved playing tennis, boating, riding her bicycle through town, entertaining family and friends and serving her famous Peach Daiquiris.

A passionate tennis player and accomplished bridge player, Regina was also known for her generosity, vibrant personality and remarkable baking. Her homemade cookies and pies became traditions enjoyed by family, friends and neighbors.

Above all, Regina treasured time with her family and delighted in bringing everyone together for vacations, holidays and celebrations. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services will be private.
