Nor’easter generates big waves, coastal flooding


A nor’easter slammed the East Coast on Sunday, prompting New Jersey to declare a state of emergency amid heavy rain, strong winds and coastal flooding in Cape May. Above, surfers took advantage of the increased swells. Parts of the state were forecast to experience winds up to 60 mph, as much as 5 inches of rain and large surf, potentially causing beach erosion. Below, the parking lot of the Lobster House was inundated with water.
