FRANCIS PATRICK ‘FRANK’ SCOTT, 67

Francis Patrick “Frank” Scott, 67, of West Cape May and formerly of Lancaster Pa., died Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, surrounded by his children.

Frank was the son of the late William J. “Bill” Scott Jr. and Patricia M. “Pat” Madden, beloved husband of late wife Regina, loving father of Gina (Dan), Brian (Tamara) and Maribeth (Patrick), and adoring grandfather to Aílbhe, Adelaide, Leila, Sylvie and Alice.

Born in Philadelphia, Frank was raised in St. Helena’s Parish in East Oak Lane and was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Marquette University.

Frank was a valued community member and leader throughout his lifetime. He remembered with fondness his time with his high school and collegiate marching bands, and coaching his kids’ sports, music and theater endeavors.

He was well traveled, enjoying family vacations in St. John, trips with his neighbors to Jamaica and cruises in Alaska, but his favorite location remained Cape May.

Frank retired to Cape May in 2018 and became very active in the local community, dedicating himself to photography, community and church choirs, cycling, volunteerism and supporting the local music and arts scene.

Most recently, Frank cherished his work as a docent and hobby historian at the Cape May Point Arts and Science Center (formerly St. Mary’s by-the-Sea retreat for the Sisters of St. Joseph), which was very close to his heart.

In addition to his children and grandchildren, Frank is survived by his siblings William (Sue), Teresa McCausland, Michael (Kathy), Vince, Kevin (Susan) and Marty (Mollye); 60 nieces and nephews; 14 grand-nieces and six grand-nephews.

He is also remembered by his loving in-laws, godchildren and extended family. Frank lived a life dedicated to his family, friends and community and will be deeply missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 525 Washington St. in Cape May.

Family and friends will be received on Friday night, Feb. 20, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Spilker Funeral Home, 815 Washington St. in Cape May, and again from 10 a.m. until 11:20 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea on Saturday.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cape May Point Arts and Science Center at capemaypointsciencecenter.org/donate or to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at pancan.org.
