TEDDY C. STRICKLAND, SR.

It is with great sadness the family of Teddy C. Strickland, Sr. announces his passing after his two-year battle with cancer on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at his home in North Cape May with his wife and sons by his side.

Born October 25, 1949 in Tuscaloosa Al, he was one of seven children born to his parents the late James E. and Cordelia Nichols (Wilson) Strickland.

Teddy proudly served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972 during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed playing golf and belonged to bowling and softball leagues. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Moose Lodge of Erma where he bartended on the weekends.

He was a pleasant hardworking individual who loved his family. He enjoyed watching the Philadelphia sports teams especially the Eagles and the Phillies. He also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas along with his wife Debra.

Teddy retired from the City of Wildwood where he was employed as the Supervisor of Water Distribution for over 30 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers James and Gregory Strickland.

He will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 41 years, Debra (nee Taylor) whom he married February 3, 1985; his sons Teddy C. Strickland, Jr. husband of Rebecca and Jesse husband of Brynn; and his grandchildren Ava, Teddy III, Bradley and Evan. He is also survived by his sisters Marsha Douglas wife of Gary, Ann D’Aleo wife of Tony and Millie Coulter; brother Mark Strickland; and several nieces and nephews.

Teddy’s final wishes were specific as he did not want any funeral services. Family, friends and all who wish to attend are invited to pay their respects from 11AM to Noon Thursday, March 26, at his graveside which will be on the grounds of the historic Cold Spring Cemetery. There will be a military tribute at Noon. Evoy Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Road North Cape May has been entrusted with arrangements.
